Junior Jazz Basketball

Bryn and Ashlyn had a great season. We saw them improve with each game. With the help of their coaches Rebecca Banks and DeAnn Sevy, they ended with a 6-2 record.

Halloween

First Day of School

Main Street Mile

Becca, Bryn, Ashlyn, Jesse and I ran the Main Street Mile this morning in Cedar City. It was the second time Bryn, Ashlyn and I have run it. The race began at Smith's and finished at the Main Street Park. It started at 9:30, just before the Pioneer Day parade at 10:00. Our times were as follows: Chad 5:29, Becca 6:18, Bryn 6:30, Ashlyn 6:33 and Jesse 6:50. A couple of my sisters and their kids ran it as well. It was fun to see old high school classmates and people from around town.

Freedom Pinata

On the fourth of July, Bryn made a pinata and let the kids take a turn hitting it.

Food, Fall & Fun

Last night we drove up Cedar mountain to see the colorful fall leaves. Our friends, the Carpenter's, also came. We took pictures, ate pot-luck dinner and visited. We then drove to the "C" to enjoy the view and breathe some fresh smoke (from the fire near Beaver). We then drove down the face of the mountain to see the modest cabins. We saw a few deer. It was an enjoyable time.

Daddy Daughter Derby

Saturday I took Bryn and Ashlyn to the stake daddy daughter derby at the stake center. The girls each got to decorate a car donated by the Happy Factory. They then got to race them down pinewood derby tracks against the other girls. Ice-cream and cookies were served at the end. The stake primary presidency was in charge of the activity. It was to spend time with the girls and I think they really enjoyed it.

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school for Bryn, Ashlyn and Jesse. Wednesday evening they got father's blessings for the school year.

Campout at Three Peaks

Friday evening I took Bryn and Ashlyn camping at Three Peaks. Becca stayed home with the others. The girls wanted a turn camping since I took the boys to Father & Sons in May. Friday we setup the tent and had tin foil dinners. The girls played with the fire and walked around on the rocks. We found a young girl that was lost and showed her the way back to her parents. Saturday morning we had Pop-tarts for breakfast and walked around the rocks some more. We packed up camp and drove over by the shooting range. We wandered around the side of a hill that had been dug out. It was fun to spend that alone time with them. It warmed my heart to see them play to gether and get along so well.

Ashlyn's Scooter Accident

Saturday we left the kids with Becca's parents while we went to the temple. Ashlyn was riding a scooter down their asphalt driveway and realized it didn't have brakes. She jumped off and got all scraped up. She has abrasions on her elbows, hands, knees and ankles. They're healing and she's doing pretty well now.
